Justin Catanoso will talk today in our Tropical Forests, Agroforestry and Complex Socio-​Ecological Systems lecture about issues, policies and political context surrounding the growing biomass-for-energy movement in the US, EU and increasingly, Asia. His unique perspective not just as an academic, but especially as a journalist will allow our students to gain insights into yet another domain of forestry.

William (Bill) Laurance will talk today in our Tropical Forests, Agroforestry and Complex Socio-​Ecological Systems lecture about the impact of roads and other infrastructures on the global tropical forests, one of the main drivers of deforestation.
