Kodagu game
Presentation
In the Kodagu game, you are invited to play the role of an Indian farmer in charge of managing a coffee agroforestry estate. The purpose of the game is to understand how a coffee agroforestry system is managed by farmers under different policy scenarios.
The model used to explore these scenarios has been built with farmers of Kodagu and scientists involved in the project external page Managing Biodiversity in Mountain Landscapes.
Two policy scenarios on rights over canopy trees are compared: (i) one where the rights are left as they are today, restricted rights over jungle wood trees in coffee estates with unredeemed tenure, (ii) and one where full rights are given to the farmers. We want to understand the economic, social and environmental long term impacts of these policies.
